This has been around the internets for at least 7 years if I recall correctly. I remember seeing it when I was still in college (maybe it was grad school but that’s already been about 5 years now). Anyway, it’s a really cool D&D inspired cake from a themes birthday party. There are more pictures somewhere. The spread was amazing. Corn dogs, taters tots, and such complete with fondue fountains of ketchup and mustard (which you can glimpse in the background here). I have long said I wanted to steal that idea for a party sometime. I’m glad to have come across the pictures again (thanks, Jenny). I do have a big birthday this year…

I just finished making this beauty to take to Christmas dinner at my parents’ house. Elizabeth made it for me last week, and it was delicious. I’m so glad I paid attention to the back of the Candy Cane Kisses bag or I never would have known this existed.

Crazy Christmas Spectacular! After Hours

When I opened this Little Debbie gingerbread man at work Thursday morning, I seem to have interrupted him in the middle of taking care of some personal business.

This morning when I left for work I found this bag of tomatoes waiting for me on my doorstep. I love having neighbors who bring me fresh produce before I even wake up. Don’t know who my mysterious gardener was today, but I ate tomato sandwiches for supper. My first of the summer (and no summer is complete without them). They were so delicious.

I thought I was out of mayonnaise so I bought more. Turns out I’m not out of mayonnaise.

The great Linda Holmes takes foodie blogs to task on their elitism in regards to Burger King’s bacon sundae.

Hard as this may be to believe, people around the country eat uncool food all the time. Constantly. They do it recklessly, without regard to their reputations. They eat completely unfashionable chicken Caesar salads, they consume coffee that’s been on the burner for an hour, and they nuke Lean Cuisines at lunch, and they actually feel okay about themselves. They do not feel “insulted” that they are being served inarguably uncool food, let alone food that has merely been declared uncool in Greenpoint. When they pulled into the parking lot, they actually weren’t going for cool points.

Sure, it’s got cheese, a fried egg, and a bunch of other stuff on it, but it’s a turkey burger so that means it’s healthy, right?

Eating boiled peanuts right now. I know you’re jealous.
